fear. Because people around the fear of the headless horseman who every night rose from
the funeral and are always looking for the
missing head.
2. Plot
Plot in the
story is backward-forward path. Because, the
author recounted the incident
in
the past with the headless horseman that he was always wandering in Sleepy Hollow.
3. Structure:
a) Beginning
The valley known as Sleepy Hollow
hides from the world in the high hills of New York State. There are many
stories told about the quiet valley. But the story that people believe most is
about a man who rides a horse at night. The story says the man died many years
ago during the American revolutionary war. His head was shot off. Every night
he rises from his burial place, jumps on his horse and rides through the valley
looking for his lost head.
b)
Middle
At the time of the party,
people told about Sleepy Hollow. The most feared story was about the rider
looking for his lost head. One farmer told how he raced the headless man on a
horse. The farmer ran his horse faster and faster. The horseman followed over
bush and stone until they came to the end of the valley. There the headless
horseman suddenly stopped. Gone were his clothes and his skin. All that was
left was a man with white bones shining in the moonlight.
c)
Ending
Ichabod is lost somewhere, eliminating the tracks. But there
is only his horse and an
old hat of Ichabod. So people assume that a headless horseman who has brought Ichabod away. Then, Katrina and Brom Van Brunt were married.
4. Exposition:
a) Conflict
Ichabod
Crane interested to a young woman, she is Katrina Van Tassel. but
there is a
young man who prevented a strong named Brom Van Brunt. But Ichabod will not give
up to get a girl who wants to frequently
visit to the ranch Katrina and reasoned thathe
helped Katrina in singing.
b) Climax
When Ichabod home
from a party at the Van Tassel house, he came home riding a horse through Sleepy Hollow. And he saw a
headless horseman. Instantly, he tried to flee
from it. But the rider was still chasing
him, throwing her
head firmly in the direction Ichabod. After that, Ichabod was falling from his
horse and he was never heard from again, the only
remaining horse-riding with his old hat.
c) Resolution
People thought Ichabod had been carried away by the headless horseman. However, there is also a saying that Ichabod was
still alive.

life of Ichabod. Ichabod Crane
is a teacher in small school in the Tarry Town and he also teaching young people
to sing. He is soft and kind for the ladies.

Van Tassel is a daughter of rich Dutch farmer (Van Hassel). She has red-cheek.

Van Brunt
Brom
Van Brunt is a hero to all young ladies in the Tarry Town. He has
a cocky character. Because he was
always attracted the attention of the girl in his city.

Van Tassel was a wealthy Dutch farmer. He is
the father of Katrina Van Tassel. He loves his daughter.

Setting
in that story take places of Tarry Town, New York.

Point
of view from this story is third person. Because the author using the word he, she.

story is dark, quiet, and scary.
